ATTACHMENT J: Modifications to Altered Facilities

  Please Note: Paragraph 56 of the Settlement Agreement requires that within three months of the effective date of this Agreement, the County provide signage as necessary to comply with 28 C.F.R. § 35.163(b), after having surveyed all facilities that are the subject of this Agreement for the purpose of identifying those that have multiple entrances not all of which are accessible.

The chart below lists the facilities surveyed by the Department, the access issues identified during the survey, and the actions required to correct the access issues. Required actions are listed using an alphanumeric code. The key to the alphanumeric codes is provided in Attachment M to this Agreement.

In order to ensure that the following spaces and elements in the County´s facilities in which alterations occurred after January 26, 1992, are readily accessible to and usable by persons with disabilities, the County will take the actions referenced by the alphanumeric code and described in detail in Attachment M to this Settlement Agreement within the time period specified below, which time period will begin to run on the effective date of this Agreement.

1.3.a. Although a designated accessible drinking fountain is provided, there is no drinking fountain provided for people who have difficulty bending or stooping. DF3 18 months
1.3.b. The wall-mounted drinking fountain is inaccessible because it provides only 28 inches of clear knee width. DF5 18 months
1.4. Women´s Toilet Room with Stalls in Lobby:    
1.4.a. The signage provided is inaccessible because its centerline is 56 inches above the finished floor. D26 6 months
1.4.b. No accessible coat hook has been provided. TR1 6 months
1.4.c. The designated accessible toilet is inaccessible because the side grab bar is mounted 48 inches from the rear wall. ST7 6 months
1.5. Men´s Toilet Room with Stalls in Lobby:    
1.5.a. The signage provided is inaccessible because its centerline is 56 inches above the finished floor. D26 6 months
1.5.b. No accessible coat hook has been provided. TR1 6 months
1.5.c. The lavatory is inaccessible because the hot water pipes are not insulated or otherwise configured to protect against contact. TR12 6 months
1.5.d. The urinal is inaccessible because the flush control is 46.5 inches high. TR20 18 months
1.5.e. The designated accessible toilet is inaccessible because the side grab bar is mounted 48 inches from the rear wall. ST7 6 months
1.6. Unisex Single-User Toilet Room near Meeting Room:

1.6.b. The pull side of the door, which is accessed through a front approach, is inaccessible because it has only 18 inches of clear space on the latch side. D6 18 months
